Homelessness: Voices of Hope
Our fall seminar will focus on homelessness and public policy, and present a variety of opportunities for our local congregations to engage in the work of homelessness prevention.
The program will include an overview of the circumstances that contribute to homelessness and report some recent initiatives that are making measurable progress toward ending homelessness in the Lehigh Valley. There will also be workshops on public policy advocacy and an opportunity to network with representatives of other Lehigh Valley congregations concerned about homelessness and affordable housing.

The program will include two plenary panel discussion sessions:
- Panel Discussion (morning session):
Who's Homeless in the Lehigh Valley
- Panel Discussion (afternoon session):
Responding to the Trauma of Homelessnes: Children, Veterans, Jobless
There will also be morning and afternoon break-out sessions. Workshop topics include:
- "Voices of Hope" - a community newspaper published by and for Lehigh Valley people who are or have been homeless
- "Measurable Community Progress Toward Ending Homelessness"
- "Homelessness, Networking, and Public Policy"
- "How You and Your Congregation Can Reach Out to Homeless Persons"
Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Registration:
This gathering is sponsored by the Lehigh County Conference of Churches, Justice and Advocacy Committee. Suggested donation: $5.
Pre-registration by September 23 would be appreciated, but not required.
